3 Types of Drum Handling Equipment

One hundred and two hundred litre oil drums are easy to move when they’re empty, but you need to make sure you’ve got the right tool for the job to move them when they’re full.

Our drum lifters and forklift-mounted drum lifters work for moving both steel and plastic drums - typically using either a beak grip, strap and ratchet, or both. We’re going to be looking at the three primary types of drum handling equipment.

Drum Dollies and Cradles

These are the most basic methods of shifting individual drums around your work zone. They typically require some physical effort to get the drum in place, then can be easily wheeled around to their destination.

Drum Lifters

These units lift the drum off of the ground either electrically or by a hand pump. Some units are also capable of rotating the drum in one direction for decanting the drum’s contents into another container.

Forklift-mounted Drum Lifters

Lastly, you can easily lift drums via forklift with these attachments. Similar to the above Drum Lifters, these are also available in just lifting or with decanting capabilities.

We’ve got it handled

Moving drums around your work area frequently can be troublesome and tiring without the right tool. Our range of drum handling equipment is designed to meet those needs, and in the scenario that you need something out of the ordinary, we can work with you to find a custom solution.
