The Electric Pallet Truck models are suited for uneven ground as they have the tandem wheel rollers to guide them when they are required to be taken over rougher ground areas.   The 2-way electric pallet jacks can access pallets from every side which makes them a convenient pallet truck in awkward spaced areas and the tandem fork rollers will improve the travel and easily clear obstacles that may be in their path.

The Electric-Drive Pallet Trucks are semi-electric with a manual pump.  These pallet trucks have quiet non-marking heavy duty wheels or castors,  making them easy to wheel along on warehouse floors.  They are easy to control and drive around the warehouse and have comfortable grip handles with their ergonomic tiller.

The Entry Level Pallet Truck is capable of accessing most standard pallets and is a lower cost unit for smaller operations.  Still a very strong robust truck or jack and can handle rigorous every day jobs without the added cost of a larger electric pallet truck.  Good way to start off and later upgrade to the larger electric pallet truck models as production and the loading and unloading of more pallets increases.

The extra wide and extra long pallet truck models provide additional weight stability and support for those loads that may be wider or longer.  They are manually propelled and have excellent speed control which allows for fragile or loose items to be raised or lowered with ease.  Again, the polyurethane wheels and rollers make for a very durable, non-marking and quiet ride.

Electric Pallet Trucks or Jacks with Scales can automatically weigh the loads which saves a lot of time when packing goods ready for delivery or loading onto delivery vehicles as the push of a button will give you an accurate weight of the box, carton or item being transported before it goes with the delivery vehicle.

4-Way Pallet Trucks are a very convenient unit when pallets need to be accessed from various sides.  With the slower speed control the pallet truck can be maneouvred at a controlled speed allowing the driver of the pallet truck to more accurately move in tighter spaces.  The 4-way pallet trucks come in a range of capacities and are either powder coating or stainless steel which makes them very suitable for outdoor use where required.

Highlift Pallet Trucks are battery powered and a very heavy construction along with being simple to operate for any trained warehouse workers.  Pallets can be lifted on the spot making them excellent for a raised working platform.  A wide range of highlift pallet trucks or pallet jacks are available with lifting capacities up to 1500kg.  A pressure release overload valve prevents any damage if the pallet truck is loaded above its maximum capacity.

Practical Efficiency Benefits of Hand Trucks

No matter what the situation is or what type of warehouse or retail situation you are in, goods are always being loaded or unloaded from delivery vehicles or moved around warehouse areas to retail floors so a pallet truck, whether fully electric or hand driven entry level, is an essential tool to be considered for ease of operation and worker health and safety.

Even on construction sites the pallet truck is a much safer option than manual labour lugging goods around and causing health issues.  Smaller loads can be transported for short distances or larger loads of pallets using the larger capacity units, every operation should consider their workers and purchase either an electric, 4-way, entry level or highlift pallet truck.

Pallet Truck Maintenance and care

All equipment like pallet trucks need regular maintenance.  Check and top up the oil where required and lubricate all necessary parts to keep the truck or jack moving and in operation on a day to day basis.  The wheels need to be checked to ensure they are running smoothly and changed if they are not up to the required standard.  Check the pump, valves and any other moving parts so your workers get a trouble free run between loading and unloading or shifting goods from one area of a warehouse, factory, retail floor, storage or logistics area to another.

What is a pallet truck?

A pallet truck, also known as a pallet jack or pump truck, is a wheeled tool used for lifting and moving palletized goods in various industries, including warehousing, manufacturing, and retail.

What are the different types of pallet trucks?

Pallet trucks can be manual, electric, or semi-electric, with each type offering unique benefits and suited for different applications and work environments.

How much weight can a pallet truck carry?

Weight capacities for pallet trucks typically range from 2,000 to 8,000 pounds, depending on the specific model and design.

How do I choose the right pallet truck for my needs?

Consider factors such as the weight and size of the goods you'll be handling, the type of pallets you use, your work environment, and your budget when selecting a pallet truck.

How do I maintain a pallet truck?

Regular maintenance includes inspecting the wheels and bearings, lubricating moving parts, checking for hydraulic leaks, and tightening any loose components.

Are pallet trucks safe to use?

Yes, when used correctly and following safety guidelines, pallet trucks can significantly reduce the risk of workplace injuries related to manual lifting and handling.

Can I use a pallet truck on uneven surfaces or slopes?

Some pallet trucks are designed for use on uneven surfaces, featuring larger wheels and improved ground clearance. However, using a pallet truck on a slope requires extra caution and may not be recommended for all models.

What is the difference between a pallet truck and a forklift?

A pallet truck is a smaller, more maneuverable tool for lifting and moving pallets at ground level, while a forklift is a larger, motorized vehicle capable of lifting and stacking pallets at various heights.

Do I need any special training to operate a pallet truck?

While operating a pallet truck is generally straightforward, proper training on safe use and handling is recommended to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.

Can pallet trucks be customized?

Yes, some manufacturers offer customization options such as adjustable forks, specialty wheels, or specific weight capacities to suit your unique requirements.
